Abstract
The aim of this paper is to characterize the electromagnetic pollution of the hospital environment and to determine what effects it
could have on patient care, focusing on the electromagnetic interference phenomena of medical devices due to new generation
mobile phones emissions. Measurements results of the electromagnetic background and mobile phone emissions are presented,
along with the effects on specific susceptible medical devices.
