Abstract

This paper presents a proposal for measurements and interpretation of gaseous emissions from the municipal landfills, especially

for non-compliant sites. Based on the measurements made on the Pata Rat landfill, Cluj-Napoca, a methodology for interpreting

the results is presented, in order to assess current energy potential of the deposit. Measurements are the main basis for

determining the energy potential of the deposit. By applying the methodology for determining the energy stage of the deposit, it

has been shown that the best period for using the Pata Rat deposit was exceeded, but methane concentrations and flow rate

resulted from the last measurements indicates that this site should continue to be monitored in terms of gaseous emissions.
